Sunday the 3rd of May will be a special with
Rootikal stalwart Ashley Beedle will also be selecting, drawing from a collection built on 35 years of buying Jamaican music. He has just produced a new album with legend Horace Andy and the pair are about to embark upon a string of European live dates.
In the bar area Rootikal also welcomes Version Excursion who - as their name suggests - will be playing a set of diverse Jamaican cover versions. Version Excursion are DJs Richo, Taka and Hiroshi.
The guests will be supported by regular Rootikal residents David Hill, Stuart Patterson, Mr Faso and Nick B.
The session kicks of early in the lounge at 2pm, where you can expect the usual quality Sunday roasts to be joined by a special jerk chicken and, as it’s a bank holiday, we have an extended session that will run to 3am to cater for the wealth of fine music that will be at East Village on the night.
Rootikal is on Sunday May 3rd and first Sunday of every month thereafter.
